BIOGRAPHY
Brittany is an artist, paper marbler, and musician living in New Orleans, LA since 2013. Her interest in paper marbling began during a trip to Florence, Italy where she discovered colorful books covered in intricately painted papers. When she returned home she began creating marbled works and documenting her life and ideas in paintings on marbled papers.
Her approach to paper marbling is both traditional and contemporary and she often blends techniques from different geographical areas and historical marbling practices. She is drawn to the experimental and unrepeatable nature of the medium as well as its connection to water, organic movement, and history.
Her goal is to be a part of preserving a wonderfully vibrant tradition by creating curiosity and joy through her marbled papers and by capturing the memories, experiences, and stories of her life and surroundings through art.
