No clay, no problem! The cost of the class will include bisque firing and if you are not local, we can package and ship the piece to you after firing at your expense.

During this intensive 5-day workshop, participants will receive one-to-one sculpting instruction and learn the methods Becky uses to fabricate striking life like subjects.  All skill levels are welcome. The goal of the workshop is to hopefully increase interest in figurative sculpture and give participants a chance to immerse themselves in a creative endeavor. We will create life size “portraits” in water-based clay based on photographs that each participant will bring of a subject they are interested in.

You will be given several printed forms showing the basic dimensions of a human head and have the option of working toward a realistic portrait or creating your own abstracted version. We will work solid and hollow out the “busts” when they are close to completion and then reassemble them. We will fine tune any details before allowing the pieces to dry before firing. All materials are provided for use during the workshop.
