Hyunmee Lee is a former art professor of painting and drawing, and an accomplished artist whose artistic journey has spanned Seoul, Sydney, and cities across the United States over the past 40 years.

This course focuses on contemporary approaches to painting and mixed media, guiding participants to experiment with diverse techniques and materials, address compositional and technical challenges, and deepen their personal direction with confidence.

What to Expect

This professional development course is designed for intermediate to advanced artists who are already proficient in acrylic paints, mediums, and fundamental painting techniques. It offers a disciplined and intensive path toward artistic growth while providing a creative, inspiring, and enjoyable learning experience. Through guided exploration and individualized feedback, participants will expand their technical skills, refine artistic concepts.

Note: A brief portfolio submission is required to help Lee better understand each participant’s work and goals. The submission should include:

• A short bio and a statement of future goals

• Five images of current work

• Three artists and three artworks the participant admires
