Say goodbye to the "precious" mindset!
Join nationally recognized artist and educator Lisa Pressman for an immersive, four-day workshop designed to help you uncover and refine your unique artistic voice through guided prompts, intuitive exploration, and multimedia experimentation.
Through fast-paced prompts, varied media, and a focus on quantity over perfection, participants will create dozens of small works that reveal surprising patterns, connections, and visual language.
The first three days are all about making—working in multiples on 6" x 6" surfaces using drawing materials, ink, water media, acrylics, the gelli plate, cold wax, and collage. You'll receive cues, demos, and conceptual directives rooted in formal elements like line, shape, and color—designed to push you out of your comfort zone and into a state of discovery.
Rather than aiming for polished results, this workshop emphasizes process and play as pathways to unexpected insight. Letting go of the "precious" mindset, you'll allow the work itself to lead the way.
On the final day, the studio transforms into a space for reflection. Through a group curation and installation process, you'll begin to see what’s been there all along—recurring motifs, emotional undertones, and the threads of a visual language uniquely your own.
Bonus: Some materials will be provided. Bring your favorites and be open to trying new tools.

Reviews
“Lisa’s class was the spark I needed to revive my art practice. She created a space for experimentation, safety and lightheartedness that allowed, at times, for the work to flow from me. I finished with pieces that came from somewhere inside that I did not recognize. It is all about material, a sense of freedom, and self-discovery — a wonderful journey.” -A.F.
"Doing 100’s with you opened up so much in my work!" -Janet Presniak
"It was such a grand time!" -Diane Graham
"Transformative." -Laurie Kaswiner
