Can we capture light to paint it?
Never static, always changing, but through it, all is revealed... with light. Render light with paint on canvas, how it moves, vibrates and expands, with a technique that causes the paint to appear to "glow". We know that light and dark - or contrast - is what makes a strong composition. Shapes, colors and marks give life to forms in painting, but light and dark reveal emotion.
--Use strong contrast and a specific handling of edges of the forms to render the glow of light in paint.
--Go beyond initial impulses onto another level to a delicate nuance.
--Manifest more specific intentions in your work.
I will show finished pieces and demo techniques for achieving this "glow". This method can be used in any style of painting, abstract or realistic.
