Let's get real!  Push the limits of acrylic photorealism in this five-day intensive workshop for all levels. New to photorealism?  This workshop is for you!  Is abstract your specialty?  Engage in creative cross-training to strengthen your practice and gain new insights!

Create paintings in acrylic that are so easily blended that they might be mistaken for a photograph.  Discover how the use of retarder causes acrylic paint to blend and appear like oil.  Have your images chosen and ready to paint before the workshop. Make sure your reference is clear and in focus. 

I would recommend staying away from portraits, as they can be frustrating while learning a new technique. 

Suggested Supplies

Acrylic washes or pastel pencils to lay in the image to be painted (I highly recommend the Masterson Palette. Do not use lead pencil or charcoal.)

Fine mister

Golden Retarder

Palette knife

The most potent yellow Cadmium Yellow Medium or Benzimidazolone Yellow from Golden or Golden Fluid Acrylics 1oz (I think they make the most consistent paints.)
