Come explore the world of pastels and all the joy they bring to your paintings! Whether you are new to the medium, or an experienced pastelist, this workshop will help you fine tune your paintings; starting with strong drawing foundations, color exercises, interesting layouts and loosening up! 

Day 1 Still Lives. We will talk about setting them up, using dramatic lighting, and what makes these ordinary objects so appealing that we love painting them. Once the setup is lit and ready “Let’s Paint!” 

Day 2 Figures. Working from photos we will paint a figure or two in an “Urban Landscape”. This can be an interior or an outside setting. Working on correct forms and proportions and adding excitement to the scene. 

Day 3. Fine Tuning and Q&A time. Taking what we’ve learned the previous days, we will fine tune our work, play with fabric, glass, metal and any other element that may be what’s missing from taking your painting thru to finished. Every class begins with a demo and I’m happy to talk while doing the demo. 

A supply list will be sent in plenty of time, as I know many supplies need to be ordered online.
