Ever get stuck in the muddy middle of your painting process, only to find you have no idea how to move forward? Do you have a pile of paintings that need to be “fixed” in your studio – those that just aren’t working? Have you ever gone too far and overworked a painting? Have you ever wanted to improve your paintings?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, this workshop is for you! You will learn abstract compositions and how to work from the grid to clarify and strengthen your artistic voice, as well as the necessary steps to fix a painting that isn’t working.
You’ll learn how to use color and value to make your paintings pop without being overstated or overworked. In this workshop we’ll cover techniques such as veiling, mono-printing, and using shapes and unconventional tools to enhance your style. Whether you paint purely abstract or paint nature-based abstract paintings, this workshop will give you the skills to improve your painting process and take the guesswork out of strengthening your voice as an artist.
