Explore the excitement of watercolor, letting the paint do what no other medium can do: flow, drip, granulate and evolve. Each class will begin with a warm up with basic watercolor practices, followed by a demonstration. 

Day 1 - We will work together on all the aspects of landscape painting, skies, trees, foliage and buildings. Also covering the elements of composition, to push things back into the distance and bringing other elements forward creating an illusion of depth. After practicing the elements we will attempt to put them together to crate a final landscape painting. 

Day 2 - We will paint a still life. Reviewing the color wheel; mixing colors like greens and grays; light and darks in a painting. Warm and cool colors. After a demonstration we will all paint a still life. 

Day 3 - Fun with Yupo! Yupo is an archival paper that is made out of a plastic. We will paint with watercolor on this archival plastic paper. (no alcohol inks) The paint does not soak into the paper leaving a lot of time to manipulate it. The “Enough For Everyone” bicycle piece was painted on Yupo paper, also my cactus and birds nests.
